Overview The incumbent will monitor employee performance and verify that assigned projects, maintenance and repair procedures are carried out in accordance with airport standards and expectations. In accordance with OSHA and City safety policies, the Facilities Supervisor will verify and enforce policy as deemed necessary for each applicable job or routine procedures to ensure safety of employees and customers. The incumbent will establish daily communication and generate reports to the Facilities Manager concerning daily maintenance operations and the effectiveness of Facilities staff members in accomplishing tasks on airport property.
The Facilities Supervisor will work closely with the Facilities Manager during any employee disciplinary concerns or actions. As deemed necessary, the Facilities Supervisor will be tasked with performing various stages of research and purchasing of various items and equipment needed to accomplish departmental tasks.
Responsibilities - The Airport Facilities Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance and custodial staff
- This includes providing guidance, training, and support to ensure safe, efficient, and effective maintenance of the facility, property and all equipment
- Motivate and inspire staff to achieve high performance
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate maintenance activities, including equipment installations, modifications, and repairs
- Troubleshoot malfunctioning or inoperative systems to identify and resolve issues promptly
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures
- Ensure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and functional condition
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance needs
- Perform quality assurance and quality control functions by routinely making rounds to verify that technicians are performing assigned preventive maintenance and projects
- Periodically inspects equipment to ensure proper operation
- Corrects equipment issues prior to equipment failure and advises management of equipment condition and any concerns for repairs
- Review log documentation to determine if equipment is operating at nominal levels
- Maintain daily collaboration with the maintenance staff to stay current with any potential development of equipment issues which may contribute to costly and undesirable down time
- Attain daily feedback from custodial and grounds maintenance staff to verify condition of maintenance equipment and maintain adequate stock of necessary supplies
- Report all findings to the Facilities Manager
- Operate City provided vehicles and equipment as required
- Utilize computer PC and software applications including MS Office, Internet Explorer, Maximo
- Procure thru P-Card and assume responsibility of City owned materials
- Maintain dialogue with Heavy Equipment Mechanic to verify the reliability and condition of all airport City vehicles
- Coordinate with supervisors and other trades with the intent of processing airport projects as needed
- Report all findings to the Facilities Manager
- May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work Exempt - Full-Time - Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Must be available to work additional hours as needed
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement

Minimum Qualifications - Associate's degree (AA/AS); or 2-year technical certificate

Basis of Rating A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview
