There is currently one vacancy for this position. The recruitment is being conducted for both classifications. The vacancy will be filled at one of the two classifications, not both.
The district participates in both an Alternative Work Schedule and Hybrid Work from Home Program.
Under the general supervision (Accountant I) or direction (Accountant II) of an Accounting Supervisor, this position plays a key role in supporting the organization’s financial integrity and operations. The Accountant performs a wide range of professional accounting functions, including cash and investment management, financial reporting, fixed assets, general ledger and job costing, year-end close, and payroll administration.
This role prepares and analyzes detailed financial schedules, statistical data, and accounting reports for management and other stakeholders, helping drive informed decision-making. Depending on assignment, the position may also provide technical and functional guidance to accounting support staff. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and collaborative, with opportunities to contribute to process improvements and gain exposure across multiple areas of accounting.

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be the equivalent of:
Possession of a Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field; and
Accountant I: No work experience is required. Some experience in financial record keeping or professional accounting tasks is desirable.
Accountant II: Two (2) years of full-time experience equivalent to that of an Accountant I within the district.
