    Missouri’s Maternal Child Health (MCH) Leadership Team is seeking a public health professional with a passion for maternal child health and personal and/or professional experience caring for children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN) and their families.     The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

    • Provide leadership and guidance to MCH program staff and serve as a liaison to partners and stakeholders related to priorities for children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN), family engagement, access, capacity, and impact.
    • Serve as lead/point-of-contact for assigned MCH priorities and work closely with the State Director - Maternal, Child and Family Health to accomplish the ongoing MCH needs assessment processes, MCH State Action Plan and MCH initiatives, especially as they relate to CYSHCN.
    • Participate in preparing portions of annual grant applications, progress reports and budget proposals.
    • Provide technical assistance/consultation to MCH programs and stakeholders as needed, especially regarding CYSHCN.
    • Attend and participate in advisory councils, taskforces, committees, work groups, stakeholder meetings, and grant-required conferences, trainings, and workshops.
    • Research CYSHCN-related topics, policies and programs and disseminate information as appropriate.

      Serve as State Director - Maternal, Child and Family Health designee, as directed.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, preferably in social work, psychology, nursing, special education, occupational, speech, physical therapy, early childhood education or a closely related human services field; ; Master’s degree preferred.
    • Four (4) or more years of relevant experience.
    • In-depth knowledge knowledge of population-based health and maternal child health and extensive experience working with children and youth with special health care needs. Personal experience related to CYSHCN strongly preferred.
    • Knowledge of the programs and objectives of a state health agency and experieince coordinating projects, processes and convenings and building strong working relationships with public health programs and partners/stakeholders.
    • Strong communication skills, advanced critical thinking ability, strong organization and prioritization skills, and technical competence and expertise.
    • Research and data management skills, knowledge of evidence-based practice, and ability to analyze and evaluate policies and operations and formulate recommendations.
    • Ability to maintain organized records and prepare detailed reports, including budget proposals and reports.
    • Contract and grant writing experience preferred.
