    Job Location: Statewide. Consideration to work at an available MoDOT facility across Missouri will be given to the successful candidate.

    Why you’ll love this position: The general services specialist performs routine entry-level activities in the areas of facilities management and other general services programs and policies. Responsibilities are performed under direct supervision.

    MoDOT will bring candidates onto the team as entry-level, intermediate, or senior level, based on your skills and experience. This opening is for one of our CAREER-LADDER positions which offers the opportunity for career advancement without having to participate in the competitive selection interview process. As you continue to learn, acquire new skills, and gain experience, you can be promoted to a higher-level position.

    Note for internal applicants: Successful candidates already at rates above the posted salary will be evaluated on an individual basis to determine final salary outcome.

    • Oversee MoDOT’s Rest Area Management Services Contract that includes 50 sites statewide
    • Regularly inspect MoDOT’s welcome centers, rest areas, and truck parking facilities (click here for map locations)
    • Manage rest area preservation and improvement projects
    • Communicate effectively with rest area stakeholders
    • Performs other responsibilities and duties as required or assigned


    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree: Business Administration, Facilities Management, Public Purchasing/Procurement, Real Estate, or related field, OR
    • Four years of experience in fleet management, facilities management, procurement, accounting, auditing, business analysis or review.


    Special Working Conditions:

    • Work requires regular statewide overnight travel.
