RoleUnder general supervision, performs skilled work of moderate difficulty in maintenance, repair, and installation of all types of building management systems, fire/safety systems, card access control systems, video security, and electronic intrusion systems for County facilities.
Major Duties, Responsibilities- Installs, programs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs all building management systems, fire/safety systems, access control equipment, video security equipment, and electronic intrusion systems. Installs low voltage wiring according to local codes.
- Coordinates system integration and software issues for all building management systems, fire/safety systems, access control equipment, video security equipment, and electronic intrusion systems.
- Coordinates and confers with external consultants and/or project teams, taking a lead position on projects and more complicated tasks.
- Assists in maintaining administrative control over all systems assets and related supplies through maintenance of inventories, files, logs, etc.
- Provides staff training in the operation of all systems as required.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: A minimum of four (4) years of experience in building maintenance, construction, or related field.
Additional Requirements:Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.

- Properly use tools, materials, and equipment common to the security control trade and measure distances using a tape measure and/or calibrated instruments.
- Work in jail environment and around inmates and secured areas.
- Travel between buildings throughout the County as required.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, employees of other departments, representatives of other organizations, County officials, and the public.
- Keep management informed of key operating issues affecting the department.
- Remain current in knowledge required to perform assigned duties.
- Handle confidential matters and maintain discretion always.
- Act with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.
Work Environment:The work environment is associated with various indoor and outdoor locations, in all weather conditions and includes exposure to loud noise, blood borne pathogens, dust, fumes, mist, and chemicals.
Physical Requirements:Ability to bend or stoop repeatedly or continually over time; move, lift, push, pull a variety of heavy objects; mix and work with cleaning fluids, chemicals, or similar solutions using normal protective equipment; remain in a standing position for extended periods of time. Sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech ability to communicate effective in-person and telephonically. Capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists. Ability to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.
