    Please note : The salary range listed in this job description is a base salary. Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed salary range listed above.

    This is position is with Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of State Parks, Safety and Wellness Program and will report to 1659 E. Elm Street, Jefferson City, MO. This position typically works Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position provides the opportunity to assist the State Park team in protecting and preserving our natural and cultural resources through training and wellness initiatives.

    • Serve as division training coordinator assisting with planning, logistics, funding and implementation of trainings.
    • Develop and facilitate engaging and informative learning sessions which provide professional development opportunities pertaining to topics such as leadership, teamwork, collaboration, safety and wellness.
    • Lead a comprehensive wellness program for the division.
    • Serve as Co-coordinator for the Department Critical Incident Peer Support Team.
    • Participate in meetings, trainings and site visits that require statewide travel.
    • Maintain effective relationships with team members across the division, department and partners across the state.


    • This position is required to obtain and maintain a First Aid/CPR/AED instructor trainer certification, and wilderness first aid instructor certification. If required and if you do not currently possess this certification, you will be given six months to obtain necessary certification.


    To be successful in this position, a candidate will need the following skills:

    • Education and Training : Knowledge of teaching, training, research, making presentations, lecturing, testing, and other instructional methods.
    • Interpersonal Skills : Shows understanding, friendliness, courtesy, tact, empathy, concern, and politeness to others; develops and maintains effective relations with others; may include effectively dealing with individuals who are difficult, hostile, or distressed; relates well to people from varied backgrounds and different situations; is sensitive to cultural diversity, race, gender, disabilities and other individual differences.


    Equivalent to those typically gained by:

    • Bachelor’s degree in health, wellness, education or a related field and 3-5 years of relevant experience including but not limited to experience in health promotion, wellness program coordination, training coordination or closely related field. (Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education or experience)
