GENERAL DESCRIPTION Under the direction of the Data Management Officer, this position performs moderately complex (journey-level) data analysis and data research work, including working with the enterprise-wide data management and governance program. Works closely with data custodians on implementation of data standards, data classification, metadata management, and data quality. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, or closely related field.
Experience: Three years experience in data analytics, data management, or related data focused roles.
Licensure: Must possess a valid State driver's license.
ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTIONS Education: One additional year of relevant work experience may substitute for 30 semester hours of required education, up to a maximum of 120 semester hours.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience: Experience with data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI
Experience working on organizational data management programs
Licensure: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification (PL-300).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of statistics and analyzing data sets;
Knowledge of running queries, report writing, and presenting findings;
Knowledge of record keeping, including security procedures for handling, protecting, and distributing confidential data;
Knowledge of data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques;

WORKING CONDITIONS Work hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday; alternative work schedules may be available.

Required to pass a national fingerprint-based background check to maintain employment.
Required to operate a state vehicle.
Required to travel 5% with possible overnight stays.
Must conform to TPWD dress and grooming standards, work rules, and safety procedures.
