There are two (2) positions available:
CHVP Case Manager
Promotes parent knowledge, positive parenting practices, and healthy child development for families with children from prenatal through kindergarten. These families are universal, non-income restricted, with prevention being the focus and an early childhood development model. We use the PAT program, which is a structured evidence-based curriculum with a strong emphasis on parent-child interaction. We do many outreach events and group connections off-site for families.
CalWORKs Case Manager
Connect families to CalWORKs services, healthcare, behavioral health, housing, childcare, and community resources. Coordination with county departments and community-based providers. Track progress toward goals and CalWORKs participation requirements. Maintain accurate case notes, assessments, and required reports. Advocate for families within systems when barriers arise. Empower families to build skills, confidence, and long-term stability. CalWORKs CHVP aims to reduce child abuse and neglect, improve maternal and child health outcomes, increase family stability, and support successful transitions to employment or education, while honoring family choice.

At the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), we work a 37.5-hour full-time work week, with the option of a flexible schedule and the possibility of working remotely 1-2 days a week, depending on the position and the completion of a one-year probationary period. Qualifications Experience and Training Guidelines -any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience: Four years’ experience working with the client population in either mental health or social services.
Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in mental health or social services.
License or Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid driver’s license.
Supplemental InformationThe salary range above consists of 15 steps. Steps 1-6 are annual merit steps with approximately 5% difference between each step, based on successful performance. Steps 7-15 are additional merit steps, requiring 2 years of satisfactory performance at the previous step. Steps 7-14 provide 2.5% increases, while Step 15 offers a 5% increase. The final salary offered will depend on the applicant's experience and qualifications, ranging from steps 1 to 15.
