Under the direction of the Regional Major, this position Performs wildlife, conservation, and natural resources enforcement work. Work involves supervising law enforcement staff and programs, conducting analyses of law enforcement programs and activities, conducting emergency management and homeland security operations, and supporting wildlife and conservation activities in an assigned region. Supervises the work of others. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Functions as the Regional Training Officer and develops and presents training courses and material as needed to ensure compliance with Law Enforcement Officer training standards/requirements. Serves as the Regional Field Training Officer (FTO) coordinator. Serves as LE supervisory point of contact for region/districts as necessary. Functions as Regional Emergency Management and Homeland Security liaison with the Texas Department of Public Safety and may work in the Emergency Operations Center. Oversees warrant, arrest and disposition activities and records. Conducts investigations into complaints from the public, as assigned. Coordinate regional physical readiness requirement compliance. Maintains knowledge of all relevant statutes, administrative codes, agency and division directives/policies, etc. Confers with local law enforcement, court officers, and state officials concerning department activities.

Supervisory Duties:
Supervision of others to include onboarding, performance evaluations, personnel actions, time approvals, travel voucher approvals and offboarding tasks. May supervise region wide or location specific non-commissioned Law Enforcement Office personnel. Oversees daily operations of the regional law enforcement office staff to include the radio technician. Assists with the preparation and monitoring of expenditures within a regional budget, including giving guidance and support to staff in maintaining their district or office budgets. Reviews staff reports and other regional documents. Completes annual performance evaluations for subordinate employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.
Graduation from the Texas Game Warden Training Academy.
Experience: Six (6) years of experience as a Texas Game Warden from the date of graduation from the Game Warden Training Academy.
Licensure: Commissioned as a Texas Game Warden by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
Must possess a current license as a peace officer by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE).
Must possess a valid class "C" or higher Texas Driver's License.
NOTE: Retention of position contingent upon maintaining required licenses and certifications.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to Law Enforcement.
Knowledge of the Texas Disaster Plan, including TPWD and regional responsibilities during a disaster.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in using Microsoft Office Suite, Virtual meeting platforms (MS Teams, Zoom, Webex, etc) and/or Adobe products.
Skill in identifying, developing, and delivering training needs in various forms.
Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures to staff and the public.
Ability to interpret and apply state/federal statutes, laws, regulations and provisions of TPWD Code, Texas Penal Code and Texas Code of Criminal Procedure.

WORKING CONDITIONS Required to work 8 hours per day, 5 days per week.

Required to travel 5% with possible overnight stays.
Required to conform to dress and grooming standards, work rules and safety procedures.
