    Overview

    The purpose of the position is to assist with PARD- Cultural Service events and rentals. The Recreation Group Leader will assist with organizing, leading, and conducting activities for various age groups, special events, private rental events, and other recreational activities and perform other duties as required. Events are both indoor and outdoor and varying time frames. The work hours will vary from week to week.

    Responsibilities

    • Assists with event set up, breakdown, and supervision

    • Stores event items and restock for future use

    • Reports on issues or problems to either PARD Staff, Park Compliance, or CCPD

    • Instructs and leads participants in various recreational activities

    • Ensures safety and adherence to parks rules

    • Helps with musical acts, vendors, and event attendees

    • Works late afternoons, nights, and weekends on a rotating schedule (work schedule is set in advance)

    • Picks up and drops off items at various locations in a city vehicle

    • Assists with unlocking and locking up Heritage Rentals

    • Cleans up rental space before and after event

    • Ensures safety and adherence to rental venue rules

    • Organizes and tracks inventory of recreational items

    Position Type and Typical Hours of Work

    • Non-Exempt-Part-Time-Temp-15 hours a week

    • Must be available to work additional hours as needed

    • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement

    • In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services

    Minimum Qualifications

    • High School Diploma/GED

    • No prior experience required

    Licenses and Certifications

    Required

    • A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hiring

    Required within two (2) months of hire

    • CPR Certification

    • First Aid Certification

    Required within six (6) months of hire

    • Defensive Driving Course

    Employment is contingent on passing any post-offer pre-employment screening as listed below:

    • Criminal Background Check: Yes

    • Motor Vehicle Record Check: Yes

    • Drug Screening: Yes

    • Physical Exam: Yes

    • FBI Background Check: No

    Basis of Rating

    A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview
