    Padre Dam Municipal Water District is seeking a detail-oriented problem solver who can navigate complex billing systems and software environments while providing excellent internal and external customer service.  The ideal candidate is technically adept and can effectively collaborate with technical staff and software providers to troubleshoot issues, generate reports, and ensure accurate, timely billing operations.

    This position is eligible for appointment within the following Salary Grades:

    • Salary Grade 19 - $33.51 - $47.39
    • Salary Grade 21 - $36.11 - $51.06

    Future Salary Increase: June 2026 - 3.25% to base pay

  • Job Description

    The Position:

    The Customer Service Technical Specialist provides daily customer support while also serving as a key technical resource for the District’s billing and customer service operations. This position differs from the Customer Service Specialist (CSS), as it provides higher-level technical support in Infinity CIS and other software interfaces, database access, and report generation, enabling the department to operate effectively and complete time sensitive tasks without external assistance. The incumbent will collaborate with and serve as a liaison between internal teams and our technology partners to enhance systems and continue to deliver high-quality service to the community. 

    Duties include, but are not limited to: utilizing the District’s computer billing system to calculate and produce potable water, recycled water and wastewater bills; handling a large volume of incoming customer calls with follow-up via phone, email or written correspondence; establishing new accounts, setting up new services, entering comments, and posting payments; creating and processing computer queries for customer and statistical reporting; resolving problems and trouble-shooting customer issues through research; explaining, educating and enforcing District policies and regulations; using MS Office Suite daily for scheduling and preparing a variety of correspondence, documents and spreadsheets; and implementing District security procedures for visitors to the Administration building.

  • Job Requirements

    Experience in any of the following software programs and interfaces is desirable but not required:  

    • Customer Information Software (Infinity CIS V4 or V5 preferred)
    • Aquahawk
    • Infosend
    • Invoice Cloud
    • Microsoft SQL

    Training/Experience Required (position requirements at entry): 

    1. High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.) and two years’ experience working in an office setting with considerable customer contact and six months or more data entry experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed in the class specification. 


    NOTE: Work experience in the public sector performing utility billing activities is highly desirable.
