Position DescriptionThe City of Tacoma Environmental Services Department, Asset Management and Technology Services Division is accepting applications for a Technology Manager. The Technology Manager is responsible for leading various information technology projects that support the business needs of the 500+ employees of the Environmental Services Department.

HEALTHY NEIGHBORHOODS + THRIVING PUGET SOUND = A BETTER TACOMA Key Responsibilities Include:- Leading a team responsible for:
- Providing IT project management to facilitate the development and implementation of software applications that support the department’s business processes. This includes working with end users, 3 rd party vendors, and application developers to ensure deliverables meet the project objectives.
- Maintaining and developing digital twins for the treatment plants and collections systems.
- Developing and maintaining predictive data models and other data analytical tools to support data driven decision making.
- Maintaining and updating data (including data quality control) for the Environmental Services Department GIS database.
- Identifying and monitoring progress toward project goals.
- Collaborating with departments, leadership, and governance bodies to prioritize work, intake requests, and ensure alignment with citywide goals
- Managing competitive bid processes, RFP’s and RFQ’s.
- Managing consultants and vendors.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Information Technology or directly related field AND 6 years of progressively responsible information technology and project management experience in the area of assignment including 1 year as a technology supervisor, manager or subject-matter expert.
*Equivalency: 1 year of experience = 1 year of education
Licensing, Certifications and Other RequirementsAs Assigned:Some assignments may require a Washington State Driver's License

Compensation & BenefitsPay Details:
Hourly Rate: $72.91 - $102.65
Annual Salary: $151,652.80 - $213,512.00

Other Employment Information
Direct Deposit: Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule by direct deposit.
Salary Increases: Based on satisfactory job performance, the City provides for a regular progression of salary increases for most classifications according to the salary schedule.
Union Affiliation: Many job classifications are covered by union security provisions which require union membership, dues, or payment of equivalent service fees.
