    Job Description

    JOB SUMMARY
    The Planner I provides administrative and technical support to assigned staff for the development, communication, and maintenance of SAWS programs, projects, and services related to infrastructure planning, land use planning, water quality protection, water conservation, and water supply development. This position may communicate with external customers to collect project data.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    • Researches, organizes and presents information collected from customers, agencies, internet services, advisory boards, and SAWS functions to internal customers.
    • Prepares multimedia materials for public meetings and events.
    • Schedules and coordinates arrangements for external and internal meetings and events.
    • Contributes to discussions, analyses, and interpretation of data towards solving problems, evaluating performances, completing reports for internal and public audiences.
    • May present program information to public audiences
    • Provides customer service to the public regarding program issues.
    • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and public relations.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    DECISION MAKING
    • The Planner I receives general supervision.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Two years of college coursework with an emphasis in Geology, Environmental Science, Business, or related field.
    • Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License.
    • Able to use word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software.
    • Ability to report to work on time, maintain a good attendance record, and work all designated work schedules.

    JOB DIMENSIONS
    • Regular contact with internal and external customers.
    • Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
    Working conditions are in an office environment. Performs occasional field activities. May also operate a company vehicle.
