Food Service Manager Forensic Treatment Center - South, 5300 Arsenal St. St. Louis, MO. 63139 Semi-Monthly Salary: $1,934.76 / Annual Salary: $46,434.24 Day Shift (Rotating Days Off) Work Area: Dietary St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center provides specialized care for clients diagnosed with mental illness. We are looking for a positive and energetic individual who has an interest in helping those with mental illness maximize their potential. The position is responsible and accountable for managing a sizeable kitchen and food service staff that serve a large client population. Leadership will have a tremendous impact on the success of the department and ultimately have a lasting effect on the care and treatment of the clients we serve.
Responsibilities • Manage food preparation and service in a 180-bed forensic psychiatric hospital
• Oversee planning of food production a ssignments
• Maintain food inventories and supplies in accordance with statewide menu
• Directly supervise Food Service Supervisor and Stores/Warehouse Associate
• Indirectly supervise five Food Service Workers and one Stores/Warehouse Assistant
• Requisition food and supplies in the absence of Stores/Warehouse staff
• Lead interviews for potential candidates within chain of command
• Support staff with setting and working towards professional goals
• Provide performance assessments, coaching, and progressive discipline
Eligibility • Associate degree and 2 years of supervisory experience (substitutions may be allowed)
• Ability to become ServSafe Certified within six months of hire
Essential Skills and Knowledge • Familiarity with therapeutic and texture-modified diets
• Knowledge of computerized food service system
• Strong oral and written communication
• Intermediate computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent interpersonal skills and reliable with respect to confidentiality
