In this position, you will lead efforts for a wide range of public health surveillance projects ranging from disease surveillance system design and implementation to evaluation, analysis, and reporting. As a Senior Informatics Specialist, you will develop, lead, and conduct a broad and complex range of investigative and analytical studies utilizing public health data in support of strategic planning and initiatives. This position will serve as a public health program liaison to document workflows and processes, design methods for process improvement, and aid in documenting business and functional requirements associated with process improvement. You will also establish, validate, and maintain data quality practices among multiple public health data systems to increase the accuracy of data which DHSS programs and local public health agencies utilize for operations.

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

    • Conduct the review and evaluation of the effectiveness of DHSS systems/applications to ensure compliance with national standards, policies, procedures, and customer needs.
    • Acts as the advanced technical point of contact for system connectivity issues and assists the onboarding team as needed, including solving complex technical problems and addressing knowledge gaps in HL7 structure and content
