The Position:
Summary:
The intern will be envolved in support projects involving water, wastewater, and recycled water systems. Responsibilities include assisting with planning, analysis, and preparation of technical documents; compiling and analyzing environmental water quality data; and supporting hydraulic modeling activities. The intern will download and manage water and wastewater data from multiple databases (e.g., SCADA, WaterTrax, LIMS), process and visualize the data through plots and trend analyses, and assist engineers with research, investigations, and technical studies. Under the direction of Engineers, the intern will support preparation of regulatory compliance reports, perform calculations, and develop technical memorandums documenting analytical methods and results. Additional duties may include preparing power-point presentations, mapping and other project support tasks including field data collection and documentation. WESA seeks a highly motivated, detail-oriented student with strong communication and writing skills who is eager to contribute to a variety of multidisciplinary projects
The Ideal Candidate:
Responsibilities:
- Support projects related to water resources, environmental science, water quality, and water and wastewater systems engineering.
- Collaborate as a team member in the development of planning, design, and regulatory compliance documents.
- Assist with data collection, trend analysis, mapping, and preparation of Board presentations for water and wastewater systems engineering, master -planning, design, and other water resources and environmental projects.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Students actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree, preferably in civil engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
- Computer experience in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Power BI is desired.
- Must possess a valid California Driver’s License.
Compensation:
- CalPERS Retirement is provided using the 2% at age 62 formula for “New/PEPRA” Members.
- Flexible Work Schedule (Max 30 Hours per Week)
- Stipend $20 per hour
