We are recruiting to fill a Data Systems Supervisor I position to perform all functions associated with the efficient management/administration of computerized data systems either through supervisors or technical staff. Directs staff to various projects and directs their activities. Instructs and advises data systems users of the various administration and technical issues in conjunction with other ITS managers. Work includes providing technical supervision in computer systems analysis and design, database or network administration, systems programming, or other computer information technology specialties in a mainframe, midrange and/or microcomputer environment. Duties include planning and coordinating computer information technology projects or performing administrative functions such as budgeting, purchasing and fiscal analysis.
- Trains, supervises, mentors, evaluates and motivates assigned staff
- Determines and defines work assignments, delegates work related to the efficient operation of all OSCA computer systems analysis and design or other information technology specialties
- Confers with management relative to strategic planning, long term priorities and agency goals; implements data-gathering and programming techniques; directs feasibility studies; recommends computer information technology solutions; and manages project implementation
- Communicates with vendors on hardware and software developments, and directs or conducts the research, recommendation, and preparation of requests for proposals or bid specifications for hardware and software purchases
Minimum qualifications:Bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester hours in computer science, computer information systems, or closely related areas and 7 years of professional and technical computer information systems experience, including 2 years above the journey level, and at least 1 year of supervisory experience; or 2 years of experience as a Senior Database Administrator with the Office of State Courts Administrator, or 2 years of experience deploying, upgrading, managing, backing up, and tuning complex database systems.
Additional experience above the minimum stated may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education.
Preferred qualifications: - Working knowledge of various computer platforms
- Working knowledge of the principles of cost benefits analysis
- Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of computer information technology
- Extensive knowledge of continuing trends and developments in computer hardware and software
- Deep knowledge of Oracle Database architecture (12c, 19c, 23ai)
- Deep knowledge of Oracle Database technologies (Exadata, RAC, ASM, RMAN, Dataguard, OEM, CDB)
- Experience with Oracle backups, recovery, security, monitoring and performance tuning
- Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems
- Strong proficiciency in SQL, PL/SQL, Batch and Shell scripting
- OCP and OCM Certifications
