Job Location: Jefferson City, MO
Why you’ll love this position: The Engineering Intern (Bidding and Contract Services) prepares bidding documents, reviews plans, specifications and estimates to assure their quality for advertisement of construction projects and prepares estimates for roadway projects ahead of bid opening. Responsibilities are performed under moderate supervision.

What you’ll do: - Reviews plans, specifications, and estimates for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with current design criteria and constructability issues.
- Communicates with the district on errors, omissions, and recommendations for plans and job special provisions submitted by the district.
- Prepares engineer's estimates for projects of lesser complexity to reflect fair market value.
- Reviews bids, compares cost estimates, checks for discrepancies, unbalancing, and bid errors, and prepares written documentation concerning these items for presentation to management.
- Assists in the bid opening process and review of final contracts for completeness and accuracy.
Minimum Qualifications - Enrolled in a relevant bachelor’s or post-bachelor’s degree program full-time (12+ credit hours).
- 30 credit hours completed/accepted toward current degree program. High school or other postsecondary program credits must be shown to be accepted by the current program through a degree transcript to apply.
- Possess and maintain an overall GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.0, or equivalent.
Special Working Conditions: - This is a wage, non-benefits eligible position, working no more than 1,039 hours per year.
