    Job Location: This position will be located at the Harry S. Truman State Office Building, 301 W High St Jefferson City, MO 65101.

    The Division of Purchasing is responsible for the purchase of products and services needed by state agencies to fulfill their missions in the Executive Branch.

    As a vocational-level position in the Division of Purchasing, the Procurement Associate receives hands-on training for conducting simplistic competitive procurement processes for agency-requested products and/or services.

    The Procurement Associate will receive training for using web-based eProcurement technology tools for conducting procurement activity.

    The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

    What You'll Do:

    • Review and prepare simplistic solicitation documents for issuance
    • Issue the simplistic solicitation and facilitate vendor inquiries
    • Evaluate and award the bids received
    • Prepare contract amendments and renewals


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED


    Key Skills:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Ability to communicate effectively via phone and email
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, agency staff, and vendors
    • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks or projects
