GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the Chief Auditor, this position performs advanced (senior-level) internal auditing work in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards and the International Professional Practices Framework and Code of Ethics set forth by the Institute of Internal Auditors. Work involves examining, investigating, and reviewing records, reports, financial statements, and management practices to ensure legal compliance with state statutes and internal regulations. Conducts and/or oversees financial, performance, and/or compliance audits of department processes. Works under minimal supervision with considerable latitude for use of initiative and independent judgement. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.
Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
Experience: At least three years' experience in auditing, financial analysis, accounting, or other relevant business fields; OR two years full-time experience as a Natural Resource Agency Auditor III or higher experience.
Experience coaching others.
Licensure: Must possess or be able to obtain, within 30 days of employment, a valid State driver's license.
Licensure as a CPA, CIA, CISA, or CFE required.
NOTE: Retention of position contingent upon maintaining required license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, or Management Information Systems.
Experience: Participated in an audit or internal audit project, or previous internal audit experience.
