Pay: $19.27-$29.39 per hour
Schedule: District I & II: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

What you'll do District I & II:
- Operates chain saws and hand saws to cut tree branches and limbs, supporting safe roadways and clean public spaces.
- Flags traffic, operates weed eaters, and picks up trash and debris to maintain safe and orderly work zones and rights-of-way.
- Participates in the construction and maintenance of streets, bridges, and culverts to support reliable transportation infrastructure.
- Prepares street potholes and depressions for asphalt patching by shoveling hot or cold asphalt mix, raking, rolling, and tamping asphalt to restore safe driving surfaces.
- Occasionally operates light to moderately heavy automotive and related equipment as needed to complete assigned installation and repair work.
- Performs semi-skilled manual labor and participate in snow removal activities; perform related duties as required to support seasonal and operational needs.

- Asphalt repairs are completed correctly and hold up under traffic and weather.
- Equipment is used safely and returned in good working condition.
- Traffic control is handled responsibly to protect the public and coworkers.
- Snow and debris are removed promptly to minimize hazards.

Qualifications
REQUIRES
- High school graduation OR
- Six (6) months of experience in general labor
- Ability to pass a physical examination, preemployment drug screen, and background check as prescribed by the City
- May be required to possess a valid State-issued driver's license and may be required to possess a valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) Class A, B, or C as issued by the State of Missouri prior to the end of the employee's probationary period
- These positions require a CDL by the end of employee's probationary period

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
