What you'll do
Wastewater Preventative Maintenance Responsibilities- Operate sewer cleaning equipment to maintain sanitary sewer systems.
- Use significant knowledge of sewer cleaning equipment operations to perform work safely and effectively.
- Operate jet rodders, power rodders, and other equipment used in the cleaning of sanitary sewers.
- Read sewer atlas maps to locate sewer lines, manholes, and work locations accurately.
- Respond to all emergencies as required to support wastewater system operations.
Stormwater Preventative Maintenance Responsibilities- Assist in the process of preventative maintenance of Kansas City Water Utility infrastructure.
- Maintain clean streets so debris does not enter sewers or other outlets.
- Operate small to moderately heavy construction equipment and think critically while performing tasks.
- Read City atlas and map books and identify utility markings accurately.
- Operate equipment for snow plowing and snow removal.
- Haul debris to the landfill for proper disposal of materials.
- Participate in snow plowing and snow removal operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
REQUIRES:- 2 years of increasingly responsible experience in the operation of heavy and complex construction and maintenance equipment.
- Must possess a valid state -issued driver's license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies.
- May be required to possess a valid MO Class A, B, or C CDL prior to the end of the employee's probationary period as determined by the department.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.
