    Job Summary

    Join the team at the Lake Havasu City Senior Center Thrift Store and help support our community! Thrift Store Volunteers assist with organizing merchandise, providing helpful customer service, and keeping the store clean and welcoming. This role supports daily operations while helping the Senior Center uphold program standards and serve residents throughout Mohave County.

    Hours : 8:30a.m. - 2p.m.

    Main Function:
    Support the daily operations of the Lake Havasu City Senior Center Thrift Store by assisting with donation processing, organizing merchandise, maintaining a clean and welcoming store environment, and providing helpful customer service to shoppers and donors.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Greet customers and provide helpful, friendly assistance
    • Sort, price, and organize donated items
    • Restock shelves and maintain clean, organized displays
    • Assist with keeping the sales floor tidy and safe
    • Help customers locate items or answer general questions
    • Work with team members to ensure smooth daily operations
    • Follow donation handling guidelines and store procedures
    • Assist with light cleaning tasks as needed (straightening racks, wiping surfaces, etc.)

    Special Job Requirements
    • Must complete all County required training courses
    • Provide acceptable driving history at no cost to the County.
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license for operation of motor vehicles on Arizona roads at the start of volunteering and maintain said license while volunteering in this position.


    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Operate common office equipment such as computers, keyboards, fax machines, copiers, and related devices
    • Follow established donation handling procedures and safety guidelines
    • Sort donated goods into appropriate categories (clothing, household items, books, etc.)
    • Understand, interpret, and apply relevant federal, state, and local laws, codes, policies, and procedures
    • Inspect items for quality, cleanliness, and usability
    • Organize and maintain a clean, orderly donations processing area
    • Work effectively with a diverse group of people in a respectful and tactful manner
    • Make sound decisions within established guidelines
    • Handle sensitive or confidential information appropriately
    • Quickly understand instructions, learn tasks, and apply good judgment
    • Stay organized, multitask, and maintain a positive, helpful approach in a busy environment
    • Follow all safety procedures, organizational policies, and confidentiality guidelines

    Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
    • Work may be performed off-site at schools, health fairs, and community events.
    • Work may involve sitting at a desk or table using a Computer Display Monitor and keyboard.
    • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of this classification with or without reasonable accommodation.
    • Must disclose medical conditions which may limit ability to perform as an emergency worker (in accordance with A.R.S. R8-2 703 -18).
