    Part-Time Fieldwork Supervisor Pool Position

    POSITION AVAILABLE : One or more temporary, part-time lecturers for a pool from which instructors will be considered for appointments as they become available for Fall Semester 202 6 and/or Spring Semester 202 7 .

    THE DEPARTMENT : The Department of Teacher Education offers the Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and the Single Subject Teaching Credential in Art, Dance, English, History/Social Studies, Mathematics (all areas including Advanced), Music, Physical Education, Science (General and Integrated), Theatre, and Languages Other Than English (Chinese, French and Spanish). The Department offers four Masters of Science (MS) degree in Education: Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Technology, Reading Instruction, and Early Childhood Education.     DUTIES OF THE POSITION : Supervisors will conduct both in-person and electronic visits to school sites in the East Bay to observe students during their fieldwork experiences in preschool - 12th grade school settings. Complete a variety of assessment measures documenting each candidate’s mastery of California Teaching Standards. Expected to attend virtual Supervisor meetings. Please note that teaching assignments at California State University, East Bay may include courses at the Hayward campus, Concord Center, and/or online. The policy and expectation of the California State University is that all faculty members will perform all of their duties within the state of California.

    RANK AND SALARY : Salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience. Please be advised that an appointment is contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations and subject to order of assignment provisions. The salary ranges for the Lecturer-Academic Year classification are listed below:

    Lecturer AY ( Range 2 ): $5,507 - $6,677

    Lecturer AY ( Range 3 ): $6,221 - $13,224

    Lecturer AY ( Range 4 ): $6,825 - $14,523

    Lecturer AY ( Range 5 ): $8,593 - $15,211

    The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range , commensurate with education and experience.

    DATES OF APPOINTMENT :

    Fall Semester Start & End dates: 08/ 17 /2 6 - 12/ 18 /2 6

    Spring Semester Start & End dates: 01/ 19 /2 7 - 05/2 1 /2 7

    QUALIFICATIONS : All applicants must have a Master's degree. The program selects individuals who are or were credentialed or who have equivalent experience in educator preparation. Supervisors should be expert in the content area of the candidate being supervised and should have recent professional experiences in school settings where the curriculum aligns with California’s adopted content standards and frameworks and the school reflects the diversity of California’s student population. The program provides supervisors with orientation to the program’s expectations and assures that supervisors are knowledgeable about the program curriculum and assessments, including the TPEs and the edTPA model. In addition, program supervisors maintain current knowledge of effective supervision approaches such as cognitive coaching, adult learning theory, and current content-specific pedagogy and instructional practices.

Cal State East Bay will issue a conditional offer of employment to the selected candidate, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Unsatisfactory results may also affect the continued employment of current Cal State East Bay employees who were conditionally offered the position.

    Education Code 89521 Requirements: Applicants will be required to disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years only after a determination is made that they meet the minimum qualifications for the position, and before an offer of employment is extended. Applicants who reach the final stages of the application process must also sign a release form that authorizes the release of information by the applicant’s current and/or former employers to the CSU concerning any substantiated allegations of misconduct.
