Department

The Office of the Registrar within the Division of Academic Affairs serves students and the campus community by providing quality services that facilitate enrollment, retention, and degree completion while maintaining accurate academic records for the University. We are also responsible for processing transfer credit and maintaining articulation agreements with other institutions. Additionally, we register new and continuing students for classes, maintain academic records, prepare transcripts and diplomas, and review petitions for exception to university policy. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Assistant Registrar (Administrator I). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude, an active, energetic mind, and a leadership style that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to inclusivity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Assistant Registrar serves as a key member to the Office of the Registrar leadership team, providing oversight of core academic record systems and operational processes. This role is responsible for the management of daily operations related to graduation, transfer credit evaluation, student-athlete certifications, and supervision of staff. Responsibilities include ensuring integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of managing student records data; ensuring that students are meeting degree requirements prior to graduation; and interpreting, applying, and providing guidance on policies and regulations. The Assistant Registrar will participate in strategic initiatives, cross-campus collaboration, and data-informed decision making in support of student success and institutional goals. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Previous supervisory, management, or leadership experience. Technical experience with student records systems and databases. Experience evaluating source documents at the post-secondary level. Strong project management skills. Strong communication skills.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited college or university. Experience with CollegeSource uAchieve is preferred. Preferred experience with Peoplesoft Student Administration. Familiarity with CSU transfer policies and initiatives.

License/Certifications

A valid California driver’s license.
