The Clark County District Attorney's Office is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Process Server position. This position may be assigned to either the Family Support Division or the Criminal Division. The ideal candidate is a dependable and professional individual who will support the Office by serving legal documents, including child support enforcement notices, criminal subpoenas, and civil process, in accordance with Nevada law and established procedures. Duties include locating individuals for service, conducting routine investigations to obtain pertinent information, maintaining accurate, detailed service records, and ensuring timely completion of assignments. The successful candidate will exercise sound judgment, work independently with minimal supervision, and interact professionally and respectfully with the public, law enforcement agencies, attorneys, and court personnel while handling sensitive and confidential information in a variety of legal matters.
This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.
Human Resources reserves the right to call only the most qualified applicants to the selection process.
Some positions may be used to fill term Limited-Permanent positions. The selected candidates will be hired for a special project or duties of a limited duration and be required to sign a term of employment letter specifying condition and exact dates of employment. The selected candidates will be eligible for benefits during the duration of employment .
Some positions may be Grant Funded. Grant Funded positions are subject to continuation based on availability of grant funds and the employee will be terminated without right of appeal when such funds are no longer available.

Employment is contingent upon the results of a background investigation, which may include both a pre-and post-offer background check for positions within the District Attorney’s Office, and a test for controlled substances.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience: Equivalent to graduation from high school AND one (1) year of full-time experience in public safety, security or working in a legal setting. Experience in law enforcement is desirable. Professional level experience and/or education that has provided the skills and knowledge necessary to perform all job functions at this level may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Licensing and Certification: Must possess a valid Nevada Class C Driver's License at time of appointment.
Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.
Citizenship: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Please note, Clark County does not provide H1B visa sponsorships or transfers for any employment positions.
Medical Examination: Employment is contingent upon the results of a physical examination performed by our examining physician.
Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
- Locates and serves subpoenas and civil processes to individuals, partnerships and corporations.
- Under close supervision, performs investigative duties, such as locating defendants or witnesses, requesting information and other routine investigative activity.
- Drives a personal or county motor vehicle in the course of the work.
- Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Mobility to work in a typical public safety setting, including stamina to stand and/or walk for an extended period of time, vision to use standard office equipment and read printed materials including a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
