Essential Job Functions

  • Assist walk-in patients at the reception desk.

  • Answer high volume phone calls, take messages and direct phone call to appropriate staff.

  • Review documents for completeness and accuracy.

  • Retrieve fax requested from kno2 system.

  • Retrieve emails from Dentistry's general email inbox.

  • Retrieve patient messages from the Health Portal.

  • Schedule new and return patient appointments.

  • Assist in other areas as needed.


Requirements

This position is open to all County of Los Angles employees who currently hold the payroll title of Intermediate Clerk and have successfully passed their probation.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Team player who can readily work with all levels of management, staff, and visitors.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information, managing patient’s medical records and other essential documents.
  • Ability to work effectively and productively with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working with Adobe, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to effectively manage time, establish priorities, multitask, and meet deadlines.
  • Spanish language skills are preferred
