Position/Program Information

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Works is seeking a strategic, enterprise-minded, and experienced professional to serve as Assistant Director (UC).

As a member of the executive team and trusted advisor to the Director, the Assistant Director will provide leadership across major business service areas supporting transportation, water resources, environmental services, development services, and municipal infrastructure. The position will oversee operational performance, capital planning, fiscal stewardship, and the alignment of personnel, budgets, and long-range infrastructure strategies with regional priorities.

The Assistant Director will advance initiatives involving climate resilience, transportation systems innovation, infrastructure integration, sustainability, and organizational transformation. The position will also collaborate with County leadership, public agencies, community partners, and regional stakeholders to translate County policies and priorities into effective operational outcomes.
