Security Governance & Compliance Specialist

Piper Companies is seeking a Security Governance & Compliance Specialist to join a leading technology organization supporting highly regulated government programs in the Research Triangle Park, NC area. The Security Governance & Compliance Specialist will serve as a key resource for personnel security, industrial security compliance, and classified program support, ensuring adherence to federal security regulations and protecting sensitive information and facilities. This is a long-term open-ended contract opportunity and the Security Governance & Compliance Specialist must be able to sit onsite in RTP NC 5 days a week. Responsibilities of the Security Governance & Compliance Specialist:

  • Support and maintain industrial security, personnel security, and physical security programs in accordance with federal regulations and internal policies.
  • Manage personnel security activities including clearance processing, onboarding, offboarding, investigations, fingerprinting, indoctrinations, debriefings, and visit requests.
  • Conduct security briefings, citizenship verification activities, controlled area access management, and escort duties within secure facilities.
  • Assist with classified information safeguarding, document control, media accountability, inventory management, and security incident reporting.
  • Participate in security assessments, self-inspections, audits, compliance reviews, and vulnerability identification efforts.

Qualifications of the Security Governance & Compliance Specialist:

  • Active Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance required; SCI eligibility preferred.
  • Experience supporting personnel security functions, including clearance processing and utilizing systems such as DISS, NBIS, eApp, SWFT, NISS, or similar platforms.
  • Working knowledge of NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117), SEAD guidance, and other government security requirements.
  • Experience performing escort responsibilities and supporting secure or classified environments, including SCIF operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience; CDSE FSO training and CIPG/FSPG certifications are preferred.

Compensation for the Security Governance & Compliance Specialist includes:

  • Salary range: $80,000-$105,000 annually
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
