The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.
- Directs, plans and coordinates complex analyses of planned or proposed programs, projects or processes which consider factors such as; impact on customers, other programs and procedural changes, staffing, training and support requirements, risk factors, costs and available alternatives.
- Performs operational reviews, prepares evaluations and provides guidelines pertaining to the effectiveness of complex program operations which involve and impact multiple IRS locations and/or organizations. May lead or coordinate lower graded employees in the reviews and evaluations of complex programs.
- Participates in formal or informal studies, either independently or as directed by management. Formulates projects, proposals, makes recommendations on priorities, scope, timing and techniques for management consideration and decision.
- May act as a senior analyst providing guidance and assistance to lower grade specialists.
- May serve as project manager responsible for accomplishing various analytical studies and/or projects involving complex programs, systems and issues that impact on multiple IRS locations and/or organizations.
