Faculty Employment OpportunityPOSITION:
Full-Time Lecturer in the Department of Kinesiology and Public Health: The Department of Kinesiology and Public Health invites applications for a public health lecturer appointment. This is an in-person appointment. Regular on-campus participation is expected for teaching, student support, and departmental responsibilities. Candidates selected will teach 30 units each academic year in a variety of public health courses offered face-to-face, hybrid, and online asynchronous. Workload assignments include teaching courses consistent with qualifications, attending department meetings, and maintaining communication with university, students, and faculty when appropriate.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have a Master of Public Health (MPH) or Master's of Science in Public Health or a Masters in a health-related field from an accredited institution or foreign equivalent.
Demonstrated prior experience teaching undergraduate health related courses in multiple instructional modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online.
Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Ability to manage academic responsibilities, meet deadlines, and adjust priorities when appropriate.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working in the field of public health and/or CHES or CPH certification.
Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
Experience with learning management systems, such as Canvas
Demonstrated use or applied understanding of generative artificial intelligence (AI), including appropriate applications and limitations in higher education or public health.
Skills with and/or ability to learn computer systems and software, and other multimedia skills.
Certificate of quality online teaching training

COMPENSATION:
Salary is based on qualifications and experience. As a member of the 23-campus CSU System, we offer an extremely competitive benefits package.
Newly hired lecturers with terminal degrees are placed in Range 3 of the salary schedule and others are normally placed in Range 2. Starting salaries are usually at or near the minimum of the range. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules are prorated based on the number of units assigned and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.
