University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB ("UEC") supports the university's educational mission by providing quality services that complement the instructional program. The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We’re responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects.
Position Summary
Temporary, Staff, Part Time, Non-Benefited position through 6/30/2027 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance).
Salary: $35.00-$40.00 per hour.
Location: CSUSB Campus.
Work Schedule
19 hours per week. Typically Monday through Friday, variable hours between 8:00AM to 5:00PM. Some nights and weekends may be required.

Typical Activities
These functions require specialized expertise in veteran services, program development, and emerging technology workforce pathways that is essential to the Office of Academic Research’s ability to design, implement, and sustain veteran-focused research and innovation initiatives.
- Develop, coordinate, and support veteran-centered research, emerging technology skills development activities, and workforce-aligned initiatives associated with Veterans Research Initiative.
- Apply specialized expertise in veteran engagement, program development, and higher education operations to support Veterans Research Initiative as a scalable, institute-level talent pipeline.
- Provide subject-matter support to the Office of Academic Research by advising on veteran culture, military-to-civilian transition considerations, and best practices for engaging military-affiliated populations in research and innovation initiatives.
- Support faculty, research staff, and campus partners in the design, coordination, and implementation of programs that connect military veterans to emerging technology research, training, and applied innovation opportunities.
- Coordinate outreach, communication, and engagement activities that strengthen participation of veterans in Office of Academic Research and Veterans Initiative
- Perform essential operational and administrative functions necessary to sustain ongoing Veterans research initiative activities, including coordination, documentation, and logistical support.
- Some travel may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Education, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Business, Technology-related fields, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional
experience.

- Experience:
- Demonstrated experience coordinating projects, programs, or initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, preferably within a higher education, research, workforce development, or veteran-serving environment.
- Experience supporting veteran-focused programs, research initiatives, or workforce development activities, including engagement with military affiliated populations.
- Experience in organizing activities, maintaining documentation, and supporting program or project operations.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating projects, programs, or initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, preferably within a higher education, research, workforce development, or veteran-serving environment.
- Other:
- Knowledge of veteran-focused programs, military-affiliated populations, and best practices for engaging veterans in research, workforce development, and emerging technology initiatives.
- Knowledge of project coordination principles, including planning, scheduling, tracking deliverables, and supporting institute-level initiatives within a higher education or research environment.
- Skill in coordinating projects involving multiple stakeholders; communicating effectively with faculty, staff, administrators, and external partners; and supporting collaboration across organizational units.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under general direction; organize and document project activities; apply specialized subject-matter expertise; and support the ongoing operations of Veterans Research Initiative and the Office of Academic Research.
- Knowledge of veteran-focused programs, military-affiliated populations, and best practices for engaging veterans in research, workforce development, and emerging technology initiatives.
- Special Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to support veteran-focused research, emerging technology skills development, and workforce-aligned initiatives under the direction of the Chief Research Officer.
- Knowledge of emerging technology applications and workforce pathways relevant to applied research and veteran talent pipeline development.
- Demonstrated ability to support veteran-focused research, emerging technology skills development, and workforce-aligned initiatives under the direction of the Chief Research Officer.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Technology-related fields, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience supporting institute-level, research-based, or workforce development initiatives within higher education or a related organizational setting.
- Experience working with military veterans or military-affiliated populations, including knowledge of veteran culture and transition-related considerations.
