The Gunston School, an independent, nonsectarian, college-preparatory day school serving students in grades 9–12 in Centreville, Maryland, has an immediate opening for a full-time Math teacher to join our faculty. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach a range of mathematics courses, including Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry.

Gunston is deeply committed to academic rigor, nurture, and personalization within a student-centered learning environment. The school also offers distinctive programs in global and environmental education. We seek a dynamic, collaborative educator who will contribute enthusiastically to our welcoming and supportive school community.

Candidates should possess at least a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, mathematics education, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred. We are particularly interested in educators familiar with mind brain education and who employ differentiated instruction and assessment techniques. Candidates should also demonstrate an ability to integrate instructional technology purposefully to enhance student learning.

All Gunston faculty serve as student advisors and contribute to the school’s extracurricular program. The school welcomes candidates who bring a range of experiences and perspectives to our community, as well as those interested in coaching or supporting extracurricular activities, particularly crew and sailing.
