The
MO HealthNet Division has an opening for an
Accountant Supervisor within the
Budget Unit located in
Cole County. Semi-monthly salary: The current rate for this position is $4,029.74. Individual(s) selected for this position may receive a higher rate based on a pay differential (e.g. shift, or time-of-service pay).
Job Location: This position is located at the
Howerton State Office Building; 615 Howerton Court, Jefferson City, MO.

This position will assist in preparing and tracking the division’s budget, preparing fiscal note responses, and working independently as a liaison with sister agencies and other departments.
- Supervise two employees for the MHD Budget Unit and serve as the budget subject matter expert.
- Assist with annual budget preparation.
- Participate in fund analysis of federal and state funds. Assist with revenue projection analysis, prepare financial projections, and assist with developing recommendations.
- Prepare expenditure analysis and for the MO HealthNet Division. Analyze assigned budgeting and accounting reports and recommend budgetary and allocation adjustments as needed.
- Work with appropriate staff to prepare, review and analyze fiscal notes for proposed legislation.
- Track legislation and appropriation bills for MHD and attend legislative hearings.
- Respond to requests from the Office of Administration, House, and Senate analysts, as needed.
- Coordinate special projects and tasks, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree and 4-6 years of relevant experience and/or appropriate certification. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
Preferred Qualifications:To be successful, the candidate must possess strong communication skills, leadership skills, and interpersonal skills. This individual should be a self-starter and detail-oriented. This individual should have experience working independently and in a team environment, to achieve goals. They should be highly motivated, with a desire to learn and lead a successful team. The candidate should have knowledgeable in the areas of Medicaid and Medicare policy, MMIS, financial procedures, and the state budget process. The individual should be highly proficient using Microsoft Excel. Training, certification, and/or education in continuous process improvement programs such as Lean Six Sigma as well as completion of Missouri Way, Leadership Academy, and similar programs is preferred.
