The Department of Management in the Craig School of Business at California State University, Fresno invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position in Strategic Management.
We are looking for someone who has primary teaching and research interests in Strategic Management or a closely related discipline (such as Entrepreneurship, International Business, Innovation/Technology Management, or Sustainability). The successful candidate will be prepared to be an inspirational teacher in both the undergraduate and MBA programs, will conduct scholarly and applied research, and engage in service-related activities. Department faculty are committed to student success and continue to develop new course curricula, including service-learning courses, and hybrid, hyflex, and fully online courses. There may be opportunities to teach in the Executive MBA and/or Accelerated Bachelor’s in Business Administration programs. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to supervise MBA student consulting teams and conduct workshops and seminars for the local business community. Our campus culture requires an environment that cooperatively works with faculty, staff, and students in the department, college, and University. Specific assignments are dependent on departmental needs and the background of the individual.
Exceptionally well-qualified applicants at the associate or full professor rank may be considered for the Reighard Endowed Chair. The Reighard endowed chair is a five year endowed chair that comes with a salary supplement and additional professional development funds.

Qualifications:
Required Education:
An earned doctorate (Ph.D. or DBA) in Strategic Management or a closely related field from an AACSB accredited institution is required. Candidates with earned doctorates in a closely related field from a similarly situated school or institution may also be considered. Candidates will be ranked based on the evidence their education and teaching background provide for a strong readiness to teach Strategic Management at the undergraduate and graduate levels , beginning Fall of 2026. Applicants nearing completion of the doctorate (All But Dissertation) may be considered. The doctorate must be completed by August 1, 2026.
Required Experience:
Ability to demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds; Evidence of scholarly and research activity (e.g., conference presentations, book chapters, publications) in Strategic Management or a closely related discipline (e.g., Entrepreneurship, International Business, Innovation/Technology Management, or Sustainability); Teaching experience at the undergraduate level; Demonstrated potential to effectively teach courses in Strategic Management.
Preferred Experience:
Demonstrated success in teaching excellence as an instructor of record; Evidence of publications in scholarly journals; Teaching experience at the graduate level; Skilled in facilitating community-based workshops and seminars

The Craig School of Business (CSB) empowers future business leaders by helping students embark on successful careers in business and economics. With approximately 3,000 majors, we offer bachelor's degrees in Business Administration (with 12 different options) and Economics, and both a traditional and executive MBA. The Craig School of Business is the first CSU business school to receive a naming endowment, a ten-million-dollar pledge from Sid and Jenny Craig, and also the first in the CSU to be accredited by AACSB, International - this was in 1959. Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Anticipated hiring range is $10,750-$11,750 per month for Assistant Professor (12 monthly payments per academic year). As a member of the 23-campus CSU System, we offer an extremely competitive benefits package.
