Why you’ll love this position: The right of way intern position provides routine administrative, paraprofessional support, and research assignments within right of way activities including assisting in resolving program delivery issues. Responsibilities are performed within a team setting under moderate supervision.
- Learn how the Right of Way Section operates within the Program Delivery section.
- Prepare reports from operating systems for accountability measures.
- Research and archive highway plans, county records and deeds.
- Prepare and proofread negotiator packets.
- Identify roadblocks, offer solutions, assist in resolving issues.
- Monitors and tracks various right of way activities such as active leases, realty asset acquisitions, and realty asset disposals; compiles information and prepares reports as necessary.
- May prepare and code acquisition payrolls and various statements for payments and compile tax information for reporting purposes.
- Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.
- Enrolled in a relevant bachelor’s or post-bachelor’s degree program full-time (12+ credit hours).
- 30 credit hours completed/accepted toward current degree program. High school or other postsecondary program credits must be shown to be accepted by the current program through a degree transcript to apply.
- Possess and maintain an overall GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.0, or equivalent.
Special working conditions and job characteristics: - This is a wage, non-benefits eligible position, working no more than 1,039 hours per year.
Preferred Qualifications - Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in specific software, like Microsoft Office.
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
- Good organizational and teamwork skills.
