    CAREER DESCRIPTION

    COUNTY LIBRARIAN

    OC Public Libraries is seeking a dynamic County Librarian to provide visionary leadership under the broad policy direction of the County Executive Officer and Board of Supervisors. The County Librarian will guide OC Public Libraries in advancing its mission and long-term vision of equitable access, innovation, and community engagement, while overseeing systemwide strategy, operations, and resources to ensure responsive, high-quality public service across all library locations and programs.

    The ideal candidate will be a proactive, solutions-oriented professional who demonstrates creativity, flexibility, and resilience in leading a large and complex library system. They will possess a proven record of achievement in organizational management, finance, and public administration, along with the vision and energy to guide OC Public Libraries through innovation and growth.
