    Strategy and Performance Division

    ANNUAL SALARY : $41,000 - $45,000 (based upon credentials)

    The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

    The Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) is seeking an energetic candidate to provide administrative support to leaders and team members in DED’s Strategy and Performance Division. DED’s mission is to help Missourians prosper. The Strategy and Performance Division helps inform DED’s strategic planning, program development, and performance management. It also houses the Department’s legislative, communications, and marketing services and the Office of the Missouri Military Advocate and Missouri Women’s Council.

    This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work with a wide variety of people, prioritize tasks, work at a high level with minimal supervision, as well as have a critical attention to detail, and a high sense of confidentiality.

    This team member will be responsible for providing administrative support for leaders within the Strategy and Performance Division, as well as supporting the operational needs of the larger Strategy and Performance Division. This will include:

    • Make in-state and out-of-state travel, lodging, and other related accommodations for division leaders; provide additional training and support to division personnel as needed

    • Assist in the accurate preparation and submission of expense reports for division leaders

    • Make electronic (p-card) purchases and invoice requests for all division personnel for approved purchases

    • Provide meeting and event support by assisting with agenda development, meeting logistics, correspondence, report preparation and transcribing meeting/event notes

    • Maintain the Division Director and Deputy Division Director’s calendars, as well as schedule meetings and prepare meeting materials; compile support documentation for briefings as needed

    • Assist onboarding of new staff by setting up system accesses, establishing logins, and ensuring necessary equipment is available prior to the start date

    • Order office supplies and monitor supplies and equipment to ensure division property is in working order

    • Serve as Strategy and Performance liaison with ITSD to ensure division personnel have technology needs met

    • Serve as a back-up to fiscal note coordination support during legislative session

    • Manage incoming communications for Strategy and Performance operations, including:

    o Greeting visitors and helping them feel comfortable

    o Answer incoming telephone calls

    o Open, examine, and distribute correspondence to the appropriate party for processing

    o Manage general email inboxes if/as needed

    • Support external communications from division leaders as needed, including:

    o Ensure forms, letters, and other templates are up to date and readily accessible

    o Setting up in person and virtual events and WebEx meetings

    • Provide back-up support to DED Receptionist

    • Maintain records and organize an electronic filing system that allows for the prompt, accurate retrieval of information

    • Complete special assignments and perform other duties as requested by division leaders

    What we are looking for:

    • A team player who is detail-oriented and highly organized, with the following attributes:

    o Ability to maintain a positive working relationship and conduct duties with courtesy and respect

    o Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality within the scope of assigned duties

    o Ability to constructively support open communication and accept additional assignments willingly as needed

    o Ability to maintain highly complex records and prepare reports from a variety of information

    o Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and complete assignments accurately within specified timeframes

    o Ability to develop considerable knowledge of office practices and procedures

    o Knowledge of appropriate grammar, composition, and spelling, as well as capacity to conduct business math computations

    o Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite as well as Adobe Acrobat.

    o Ability to demonstrate regular and reliable attendance

    o Ability to take on other duties as assigned

    o Willingness to grow and improve through a commitment to professional development and systems improvement for the benefit of self and team

    • Four or more years of office or related clerical experience; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.


    Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience at a rate of 30 earned credit hours for one year.
