    Job Summary

    Under general supervision of the Associate Vice President for Development (AVP), with additional work direction often from the Senior Development Officer or other members of the University Advancement leadership team, the Annual Giving and Stewardship Analyst performs technical and analytical duties to ensure that donors experience high quality interactions with Sonoma State that encourage long-term engagement and investment in the university. The incumbent supports the implementation of year-round annual giving programs that include electronic and print media, donor recognition and stewardship, on-going communications and continued cultivation of current, lapsed and newly identified donor prospects to enhance their relationship with the university and to increase the likelihood of continued contributions. The incumbent coordinates the parent and family programs from a donor perspective and collaborates with campus partners to ensure its success. Contacts involve integration with all levels inside and outside the university, and may include dealing with sensitive and confidential information and situations.

    Key Qualifications

    This position requires an equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of experience in marketing, fundraising or a related field. Additional experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. This position requires the ability to perform specialized functions involving the analysis, interpretation, integration, compilation, application, and presentation of complex data and information and the subsequent development of policies and procedures from a future-oriented and broad perspective. This position requires the ability to provide a high-level of customer service to various internal and external audiences. Advanced proficiency using computers, Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database software preferred. Knowledge of Google Suite and PeopleSoft preferred. Must possess an excellent foundation of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Preferred experience or working knowledge with Raiser’s Edge NXT, Anthology, or similar related databases.

    Salary and Benefits

    This is a full time, exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period. Step placement will be determined based on relevant qualifications and professional experience. Step placement upon appointment will not exceed Step 5, $5,709 a month. The CSU Classification Step Range for this position is $5,274 - $7,684 per month (step 1 - step 20).

    This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 15 paid holidays are offered each year. Sonoma State University is also a Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF) Employer.
