Salary Starting at: $4,619/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30a.m-4:30p.m. with telework options available after the completion of a 6-month probationary period.

Responsibilities
The Water Department of Kansas City, Missouri is seeking a skilled Trainer for Engagement and Education division facilitates efficient and economical delivery of services related to Training and Development. Work involves research and implementing professional development training, responding to general training inquiries, overseeing training and development requests through the Learning Center, and developing resources for the KC Water workforce. Work may involve communication with supervisors regarding effective implementation of engagement and exercising tact and diplomacy to maintain effective working relationships with other city personnel.
Duties and Responsibilities: - Oversees the Learning Center to support staff development. Includes reviewing request, checking for completion of requests, completes registration, researches vendor status, collects receipts, follows procedure for travel requirements, ensures and uploads all required documentation in the Learning Center
- Provides a monthly and yearly update on expenditures through the learning center.
- Assists in conducting interviews and surveys to collect information to be used in training and development analysis.
- Analyzes data from questionnaires, interviews, and group discussions to evaluate curricula, teaching methods, and staff participation in training and development.
- Helps with monthly new employee orientation- coordinates speakers, gathers supplies, lunch and transportation.
- Updates and creates content for KC Water SharePoint.
- Prepares and creates KC Water training materials for professional development of staff
- Supports all training efforts, tracks training in Learn LMS and enters training data
- Executes in-person and/or virtual professional development trainings ranging from entry level staff to management level staff.
- Researches and prepares new professional development trainings for approval by the Training, Education, and Outreach Manager, as needed.
- Evaluates and responds to requests for divisional trainings needs.
- Supports the Engagement and Education division in public outreach and tabling events.
- Compiles and updates key performance indicators for learning and development.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and 3 years of professional experience in business or public sector administration to include at least 2 years performing administrative and/or supervisory work involving more complex projects or programs; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience with at least 2 years performing administrative and/or supervisory work involving more complex projects or programs.
Preference given to applicants with professional development curriculum creation, needs assessment analysis experience, and teaching & training experience.
