DescriptionThe Modesto Irrigation District is currently recruiting to fill one full-time position in the General Manager's Department to plan, organize, administer and perform complex and sensitive professional, administrative, and analytical functions, serve as a project lead in support of the General Manager’s Office to achieve results and goals, and supervise assigned staff. Incumbents regularly work on tasks that are varied, complex, and sensitive tasks, requiring considerable discretion and independent judgment. Assignments are complex in nature and given with general guidelines and incumbents are responsible for establishing objectives, timelines, and methods to deliver work products.
The position will be filled at the appropriate level based on the qualifications of the successful candidate.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS Management Analyst: This is the journey level class in the Management Analyst series and is assigned the full range of duties. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new, unusual or unique situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies within the work unit.
Management Analyst - Senior: This is the advanced journey level class in the Management Analyst series. Positions at this level are distinguished from other classes within the series by the greater level of responsibility assumed, complexity of duties assigned, independence of action taken and by the nature, scope and impact of the public contact made. Employees perform the most difficult and responsible types of duties assigned to classes within this series, including providing direct supervision over assigned personnel and perform complex professional analytical work in support of internal and external customers.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED Management Analyst: Receives direction from the Senior Management Analyst or a higher-level manager. Exercises technical and functional supervision over professional and technical staff.
Management Analyst - Senior: Supervises professional, technical, and administrative support staff.
Examples of DutiesDuties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Management Analyst: -Provide analyses and recommendations of various kinds and levels of service provided by the District and recommend process improvements.
-Coordinate and participate in the timely completion of analytical and administrative tasks.

-Research required project information associated with department internal/external projects.
-Develop detailed project plans with timelines based on objectives.
-Interpret and explain project objectives to achieve buy in from contributors and stakeholders.
