Overview
The Building and Grounds Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance for all facilities at the Corpus Christi International Airport, including both Public and Tenant areas, and promotes a clean and safe environment for public and private use.
Responsibilities
- Wipe down all restroom surfaces to sterilize, fill soap dispensers, towel dispensers, toilet paper dispensers, clean mirrors, sinks, walls, toilets, and urinals, and sweep and mop floors
- Sweep all floors to remove dust, dirt, and trash
- Remove all trash from trash cans for both Public and Tenant areas
- Gather, separate, and store all recycle products from airport property
- Sweep curbside in front of terminal to remove trash and cigarette butts, to include trash cans as well as cleaning ashtrays
- Wipe down and sweep all escalators, elevators, and stairwell cleaning
- Arrange furniture for meetings, high dusting, wash terminal windows, and other special requests
- Clean carpets and mop, buff, strip, and wax all terminal and tenant areas
- May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
Non-Exempt - Full-Time
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement

Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year of experience
Licenses and Certifications

- A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Basis of Rating
A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
