THE OPPORTUNITY As a Storekeeper/Courier, you will serve as a County liaison by picking up County freight, supplies, materials, surplus property, and United States mail and delivering to facilities in Placerville and South Lake Tahoe. You will work independently in a warehouse setting and be responsible for safely driving a delivery vehicle throughout the County of El Dorado.
The selected candidate will have the opportunity to: - Deliver and pick up freight, mail, packages, supplies, materials, and surplus furniture and equipment to and from various County agencies, offices, and storage areas by motor vehicle on established routes and/or time schedules.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail and parcels using postage meters, personal computers and various equipment.
- Sort and organize items to be delivered, load onto vehicle in an organized and orderly manner.
- Drive a pickup truck, van or other delivery vehicle between County facilities in Placerville and South Lake Tahoe; fuel vehicles as required; report the need for service or repair.
- Maintain basic logs and records of work performed and supplies delivered.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE The ideal candidate will have prior work experience picking up and delivering freight, mail, equipment and packages, while safely driving a motor vehicle and adhering to established routes and schedules. Prior warehouse work in a shipping and receiving environment is also ideal. A proven history in working well independently and meeting deadlines desirable.

One year of experience performing
EITHER sorting, routing, and processing supplies and/or mail
OR shipping/receiving functions
OR warehouse support work.
