    Job Description:

    Inventory Control Specialist II

    Purpose:

    This position performs duties associated with warehouse and/or inventory management

    Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:

    Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
    • Receives, ships and verifies items assuring items received are accurate; inspecting condition of items; performing operational checks on equipment in inventory, comparing count/measure of items to purchase orders and packing lists, resolving discrepancies, and tracking delayed orders.
    • Documents goods/services purchased, received and/or issued by recording identifying information using the appropriate tracking method and providing status updates to stakeholders on variances.
    • Prepares items for shipment to ensure safe delivery and determines most economical and efficient shipping method.
    • Documents items shipped by recording identifying information of items and transport information.
    • Completes purchase requests by verifying inventory and specifications of purchase requests; preparing stock and equipment requisitions, inputting purchase orders, quotes and service requests, expediting deliveries and assisting with invoice processing.
    • Replaces or repairs damaged or obsolete items using the appropriate tools and following internal guidelines.
    • Resolves discrepancies in receiving by identifying damaged items and shortages and quantity of materials; placing materials in inventory, conferring with various entities to make adjustments; correcting the shortages and obtaining credits.
    • Monitors and/or maintains inventory by applying fundamental control techniques; monitoring inventory level and replenishment lead times, anticipating needed items, updating inventory forecasts, minimum and maximum stock levels, and performing periodic cycle counts / inventories.
    • Monitors inventory by identifying idle, excess and obsolete stock and coordinates disposition as directed.
    • Supports inventory and/or warehouse operations by providing on-the-job training, troubleshooting issues at various phases of the receiving and shipping cycle, and serves as liaison among purchasing, vendors and other staff members to resolve operational issues.
    • Operates various types of equipment including a pallet lift and/or forklift.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent plus three (3) years of experience in a warehouse/inventory control related field.
    • Education may substitute for experience up to the maximum of two (2) years.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience working in an active outdoor or warehouse role that requires being accurate and detail-oriented
    • Experience in fundamental inventory control practices
    • Experience using inventory management systems, spreadsheets, or databases to track materials or assets
    • Ability to travel to multiple work locations


    Licenses and Certifications Required:

    • Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License, if required for the position
    • If required for the position, legally mandated training must be completed within 1 year of employment


    Notes to Candidate:

    Austin Resource Recovery (ARR) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist II to support cart operations and inventory control activities. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting daily field activities, and ensuring carts and components are clean, functional, and ready for service. The Inventory Control Specialist II supports inventory tracking, receiving, storage, staging, and layout organization while documenting service activity and inventory movement using systems such as Maximo, Office 365, Outlook and other related systems. This role focuses on maintaining accurate and timely records of materials and assets and supporting inventory readiness across warehouse and field operations. Primary responsibilities include receiving and verifying inventory, inspecting cart condition, monitoring stock levels, supporting reuse of carts and components, and coordination with operational staff to ensure inventory is staged and available to meet service needs. The position also assists with maintaining organized inventory layouts to support efficient material flow and safe operations. The position is physically active and involves primarily working outdoors in varying weather conditions. The role requires being on their feet for extended periods while performing inventory and warehouse tasks including lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving materials up to 50 lbs and operating equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and pressure washers, as well as the use of hand and power tools in accordance with established safety guidelines. The Inventory Control Specialist II works closely with internal teams and supports planning and supervisory staff by providing accurate inventory information, identifying discrepancies and documenting inventory conditions.     Monday - Friday: 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

    This is an in-office position with no telework opportunity.
    Employee will be required to work holidays, after hours, weekends, seasonal shift changes and other areas due to business needs.

    Salary Range:

    $22.48 - $25.24 per hour
