Full-time position available with the Water Department, Meter Field Services Division, located at 1720 Wabash Ave.
Salary Starting at: $23.98/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00a.m.-4:30p.m.

Responsibilities
- Utilizes water leak detection equipment to pinpoint water main breaks and leaks, resolves service requests, and submits work orders to dispatch for Pipeline repair to make the needed repairs to the utility.
- Responds to the following calls for residential and commercial properties: high and low pressure, dirty water, sounds on service, locate and operate service valves, 3rd party damage to the main or service, all fire hydrant issues, contacting and leaving a customer service notice to residents when a leak is past the first valve and is the responsibility of the property owner to make needed repairs, emergency shut offs due to flooding and repairs, addressing roadway valve lids, line valve lids, removals and inspections, tile meter leak on small meters, small meter bursts, and other calls that are run after hours for Meter Field Services.
- Utilizes as-built water main plans and GIS Information to determine pipe sizes, valve locations and service connections when inspecting water leaks and service disruptions.
- Determines the water main distribution system configuration using engineering plans and GIS Information to isolate water mains for repair and construction activities.
- Inspects the installation of leak monitoring equipment and analyze the data collected to identify defects and determine needed repairs and replacements.
Qualifications
REQUIRES high school graduation and 2 years of experience in the installation or reading of water meters, or construction and maintenance of water mains and services. Must possess a valid State-issued driver's license in acdordance with the City of KCMO policies. May be required to possess a valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) Class A, B, or C issued by the State of Missouri prior to the end of the employee's probationary period (appropriate CDL will be determined by the department). Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical as prescribed by the City.
