JOB SUMMARYThe Cashier/Pool Attendant ensures a safe and welcoming environment at the Rio Vista Pool by managing front desk operations, collecting admission fees, and delivering exceptional customer service. It supports staff in enforcing facility rules and maintaining order, contributing to a positive guest experience and the overall success of pool operations.
2026 Operational Season: - Opening Weekend: May 23-24
- Memorial Day: Closed May 25
- Tuesdays - Sunday: May 26 - August 7
- Weekends only: August 9 - September 6
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Manage front desk operations to ensure a positive customer experience, including handling admissions, processing payments, and providing accurate information to patrons.
- Support safe and enjoyable pool use by assisting with rule enforcement and maintaining a welcoming environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the pool area, including decks, restrooms, and surrounding spaces, to uphold health and safety standards.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay informed and contribute to continuous improvement of pool operations.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the overall success and safety of the facility.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Previous experience working a cash register and calculating change.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must work holidays and holiday weekends, as scheduled.
COMPETENCIES AND ENVIRONMENT- Knowledge of basic mathematical calculations to process admission fees, calculate change, and prepare daily cash reports.
- Skill in effective oral communication to provide clear information and interact professionally with the public in a courteous manner.
- Skill in customer service and maintaining positive relationships with diverse individuals in a high-contact environment.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and take appropriate action during emergency situations while working under general supervision.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and composed in high-pressure or urgent scenarios.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS Physical requirements include working outside in the heat, sun, high humidity and wind; exposed to chlorine, muriatic acid, slippery surface; noise from large crowds and lifeguard whistles. Subject to standing, sitting, vision, hearing, talking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling reaching, handling, and fine dexterity.
