Job Description:Purpose:IT Software Engineer Seniors are members of an agile-oriented cross-functional team who leverage software to solve real-world problems. This position actively develops and leads new software code and maintains existing code with a high degree of quality, leveraging strong software design principles, ingenuity and creativity, attention to detail, and analytical skills to devise unique and innovative software solutions.

- Researches, designs, develops, tests, implements, and manages service/product solutions.
- Develops service/product/solutions to support value creation, growth, and delivery of exceptional City/department customer and business results.

- Analyzes and designs technical solutions related to an application, platform, or service.

Minimum Qualifications:- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to the job, plus three (3) years of related experience.
- Experience may substitute for education up to four (4) years.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience developing, managing, and routine monitoring of interfaces (API, SFTP/FTPS).
- Expert level experience with SQL, JAVA, Groovy.

Days and Hours:- Generally, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Close variations to the hours will be considered.
- Schedule may include days, evenings, nights, weekends and/or holidays. Austin Municipal Court is a 24 hour, 7 days per week business operation. Schedule/location may change based upon business needs.
Telework details:After training is completed, this position is eligible for telework. The routine schedule would require on site work for routine team meetings tasks, as well anytime an unanticipated issue requiring in person presence is required.
Travel: If you are selected for this position and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.
CBI:If selected as top candidate for this position you must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check to be hired and maintain CJIS eligibility.
