    Job Description:

    Business Process Consultant Senior

    Purpose:

    Responsible for leading the Department Executive Management team through the strategic planning process innovation, and performance measurement processes. Responsible for creating and revising process innovation, strategic planning, competitive analysis, corporate intelligence, and performance measurement processes. Analyzes, presents alternatives, makes recommendations and provides assistance for resolving business and technical issues confronting management in the area of planning performance, and reorganization.

    Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:

    Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

    • Leads multiple, cross-functional, large projects, initiatives and teams.
    • Reviews, coaches and evaluates the work of Business Process Consultants and Technical staff.
    • Advises Executive Management team in defining and identifying key measures and performance targets.
    • Facilitates the development of stakeholder analysis and communication plans for process improvement teams.
    • Makes recommendations to project teams and recommend organizational change utilizing appropriate talent.
    • Identifies, collects, and researches to complete data analysis.
    • Plans needs and forecasts resources for specific tasks and makes specific assignments to Business Process Consultants and/or staff.
    • Accountable for achievement of goals of the division.
    • Identifies talent to fulfill support roles, establishes relationships quickly and gather needed resources to ensure successful processes.
    • Develops solutions to critical business issues and presents alternatives to executive management.
    • Communicates project status to sponsors, stakeholders, and the rest of the department.
    • Responsible for creating/revising models and methodologies which support consulting services.
    • Develops project work plans and performs project management.


    Responsibilities - Supervisor and/or Leadership Exercised:

    • Responsible for the full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, evaluation, counseling, and recommendation for dismissal.


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
    • Knowledge of business strategies, objectives, planning, development and management processes and process improvement.
    • Knowledge of performance measures.
    • Knowledge of applicable City of Austin, state and federal statutes, ordinances and codes.
    • Knowledge of research methodologies, cost/benefit, analysis, statistics and financial models.
    • Knowledge of leadership methodologies and supervisory responsibilities.
    • Skill in communication in a variety of formats including: print communication, electronic format, presentations and telephonic.
    • Skill in providing internal consulting services.
    • Skill in project management methods.
    • Skill in handling conflict resolution to changes of current processes.
    • Skill in negotiation of projects and program initiatives.
    • Interpersonal skills to engage all stakeholders and facilitate accurate requirements to capture and manage stakeholders' expectations.

    • Ability to understand, interpret and apply detailed and complex information.
    • Ability to manage implementation of recommendations.
    • Ability to lead and manage a multi-discipline workforce.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience related to the job. Graduate level education may substitute for experience up to two (2) years.


    Licenses and Certifications Required:

    None.

    Preferred Qualification
    • Experience designing and executing comprehensive strategic planning and alignment initiatives.
    • Experience planning and facilitating meetings and workshops using a wide variety of facilitation tools, techniques, and practices to achieve business outcomes.
    • Experience planning and leading structured problem-solving and decision-making meetings using frameworks, tools, or processes that ensure decisions are informed, inclusive, and collaborative.
    • Experience developing internal communication plans and crafting high-quality, executive-level slide decks, presentations, messages, and talking points.
    • Experience with Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) or similar organizational goal setting frameworks.
    • Experience coaching and mentoring executives and managers to strengthen key leadership skills.
    • Experience in professional management consulting and/or leading executive-level strategy initiatives and cross-functional projects to drive operational excellence.
    • Ability to travel to more than one work location.

    Austin Capital Delivery Services (ACDS) is currently seeking a highly skilled Business Process Consultant Senior to join our team and help us shape the future of our organization.

    We are looking for a dynamic individual with a proven track record of leading and managing complex projects and a passion for driving change. This role requires strong interpersonal communication skills, confidence in working with executive leadership, and the ability to build and maintain trusting and effective relationships with diverse staff at all levels of the organization.

    The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience facilitating and guiding strategic discussions, synthesizing diverse opinions, managing conflict and difficult conversations, and coaching teams towards aligned outcomes. They should also be adept at creating a safe, open environment where creative and strategic thinking can flourish.

    The Business Process Consultant Senior will play a vital role in leading the development of our strategic plan and facilitating collaboration among various divisions and stakeholders. In this role, you will:

    • Lead and support ACDS' comprehensive strategic planning and alignment initiatives including planning, coordinating, and facilitating strategic discussions and workshops.
    • Manage department meeting cadence, develop schedules and agendas, synthesize key points into clear insights and recommendations, document action items, and build accountability systems.
    • Serve as an internal consultant and facilitator for executive leadership by planning and leading structured problem solving and decision-making meetings to identify root causes of business problems and ensure solutions are informed, collaborative, documented, tracked and monitored through implementation.
    • Develop internal communication plans and craft high-quality, polished presentations, messages, and talking points that translate strategic priorities into clear, consistent messages that reinforce alignment and transparency.
    • Provide leadership coaching and development to foster self-awareness, improve key skills (communication, decision-making, emotional intelligence), and enhance effectiveness to drive better team performance and organizational success.
