Department of Public Health, California Children's Services (CCS) is recruiting for a
Physical or Occupational Therapist (Non-Treating Case Manager) who assist in program administration and quality control. A vacancy exists for a therapy consultant to provide case management and to implement new state policies. Duties include, review and determine medical eligibility; collaborate, assist, and participate in discharge planning with hospitals for CCS-eligible children requiring durable medical equipment or acute rehabilitation services; perform utilization review processes; and assist parents in understanding the CCS process in accessing services in their general geographic area.

Summary of Benefits Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Pre-Employment Process: Prior to appointment, applicants must pass a background investigation which includes verification of employment history and education, fingerprinting, physical exam, and drug screening.

Minimum RequirementsApplicants

Licensure: Applicants
must meet
one of the following licensure options:
- Option 1: Possess and maintain a valid license as a Physical Therapist issued by the Physical Therapy Board of California (PTBC), -or-
- Option 2: Possess and maintain a valid license as an Occupational Therapist issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy (BOT).
- AND - Experience: Applicants
must meet
one of the following experience options:
- Option A: Eighteen (18) months of full-time equivalent experience as a licensed Physical Therapist or a licensed Occupational Therapist in a California Children's Services program, -or-
- Option B: Thirty (30) months of full-time experience as a licensed Physical Therapist or licensed Occupational Therapist in a rehabilitation setting.
Desired QualificationsThe ideal incumbent will possess experience in a pediatric outpatient rehabilitation setting, the California Children's Services (CCS) program, and/or custom durable medical equipment (DME) assessment. Supervisory or lead worker experience is highly desirable.
