    Charleston County Consolidated Emergency Communications Center (ECC) is looking for Human Resources Generalist passionate about public safety and 911 to administer the employment process, conduct onboarding, and assist with employee relations for the department.

    HIRING SALARY RANGE: $56,513 - $74,00

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties and Responsibilities;
    The Training Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, conducting, and developing training programs for the ECC. The Training Coordinator will be expected to work independently in a rapidly changing environment, manage projects to completion with guidance from their manager, all while maintaining and developing the relationships inside and outside the department.

    Job functions include:
    •Coordinate and administer ECC employment process.
    •Coordinate the ECC Recruitment Team and attend job fairs when necessary.
    •Prescreen applicants and conduct interviews.
    •Complete all pre-employment testing, documentation, medical exams and credit and background checks.
    •Build collaborative relationships with internal and external departments, agencies, and community organizations to identify needs and opportunities for recruiting.
    •Maintain up-to-date electronic files on candidates in the hiring process
    •Answer questions and address any issues with employment onboarding.
    •Assist with coordinating employee relations for the department to ensure the policies and procedures for the department fall within County policies and procedures and that these policies and procedures are administered fairly and equitably in the department.
    •This is an essential position of the department and required to participate in departmental activations.
    •Performs other duties or assumes other responsibilities as apparent or assigned

    Minimum Qualifications

    •Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalency.
    •Progressively responsible professional HR experience working in several different HR areas or working in a specialist HR and assisting in several different HR areas, including hiring and onboarding.
    •Bachelors in Human Resource Management, Personnel & Labor Relations or Management preferred.
    •Certification in Human Resources (PHR, SHRM-CP or - SCP, HRCI, or equivalent) preferred.
    •Must have no felony convictions; misdemeanors will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and disposition information must be provided.
    •Pass a background investigation including driving record, employment history, employment, education, and training verification, illegal conduct (drug use, etc.), and reference check.
    •Pass a pre-employment physical and psychological evaluation.
    •Be able to successfully complete Level IV CJIS Security Awareness Training within 6 months of date of hire and maintain the certification.

    •Be a team leader and/or commander under stress caused by emergencies, danger and criticism.
